Macecraft Software has released the sixth beta release of jv16 PowerTools 2013. This program is intended to tweak all kinds of things in Windows. For example, there are modules to determine which programs are started when Windows boots and you can search for duplicate files. Furthermore, the registry can be cleaned of redundant keys and made smaller, which has a beneficial effect on Windows performance. New in version 2013 is, among other things, the possibility to remove various programs from the computer in one operation. Furthermore, almost all parts have been updated, which mainly benefits the performance. In beta 6, the following changes and improvements have also been made:

• Removed the option to add an icon for the program to the Quick Launch bar as it’s no longer in use with new Windows.
• Improved the software uninstallation engine’s ability to detect files and registry keys relating to an installed software.
• The Software Uninstaller (and Decrap my Computer) will now generate a debug report called Software.log to the installation directory of the program. Send this file over if you are reporting an issue relating to the Software Uninstaller not finding some software.
• Translation interface is now final, you can start to translate the program to your language!

bug fix:

• Fixed all the “File X too small” errors from the Unit Tester.
• Fixed all the errors relating to TestStringToolsEx in the Unit Tester.
• The first step of the Decrap my Computer doesn’t adjust correctly when the window size is changed.
• Help > License tool contains two pieces of text that cannot be translated.
• Decrap my Computer doesn’t properly report if it fails to create a System Restore Point.
• The Possible left-over traces group contains many perfectly valid software in the Software Uninstaller.
• The Registry Cleaner can show a Safety Net error when trying to fix some of the found items.
• The Software Uninstaller (and Decrap my Computer) do not find all the installed software.
• Using the Help > License tool > Search for a new license feature doesn’t remove the “searching, please wait” panel from the screen if a license if found.
• Tools didn’t always show the hint popup, for example, the Decrap my Computer and Software Uninstaller should show more information with a hint popup about the item currently under mouse cursor when cursor is stopped over the item for a few seconds.
• Uninstalling Software with the Software Uninstaller does not work.
