There are a large number of programs to put computer statistics on the desktop. For example, there is the Samurize program for Windows, while GKrellM is available for Linux, among other things. One of the programs that can be used for statistics on Mac OS X is the iStat Pro. iStat Pro resides in the Dashboard of Mac OS X and can display processor load(s), memory usage, free and used hard disk space, and hardware component temperatures, among other things. iSlayer, the developer of iStat Pro, has just released a new version of the software in the form of 3.4.
