Intel has for its Aero computer board and Aero ready to fly drone released a new board support package with 1.6.1 as version number. The sign has a Intel Atom x7-Z8750quad-core processor, 4GB lpdrd3-1600 RAM and embedded 32GB emmc storage memory. The same board is used in the ready to fly drone, so you no longer have to tinker to get started. The list of changes for this bsp release is as follows:

Version 1.6.1

  • Reduce time to go to bootloader for flashing Flight Controller stack
  • Updated iwlwifi firmware version to fix Aero hotspot issue
  • Updated mavlink router revision
  • Added Camera definition file for Intel RS RGB camera which will be hosted over http

Version 1.6

  • Changed the baud rate of communication between Aero compute board and AeroFC from 460800bps to 921600bps
  • Enabled downward facing camera in camera streaming daemon
  • Update Cockpit theme
  • Added aero-optical-flow (check for more information)
  • Make enumeration of Intel Aero RTF drone cameras consistent
  • Added script to get AeroFC firmware version(aerofc-get-version.py) and added this information to aero-get-version.py
  • Increased the FPS of OV7251 to 75fps and enabled V4L calls to set and get exposure and gains for this camera
  • Fixed and enabled kernel space driver for MCP2515 (CAN controller)
  • Updated PX4 and ArduPilot binaries to latest stable releases:
    • PX4 1.6.5
    • ArduPilot 3.5.2
