BolideSoft, known for the film catalog program All My Movies, released version 3.4 build 707 of Image Comparer on Friday. As the name suggests, this program can compare images to find duplicates, for example. You might say nothing special in itself, but this program also finds duplicates that have a different size, resolution or even format. It indicates in percentage how likely it is that one image is the same as another. Image Comparer can handle jpeg, j2k, bmp, gif, pcx, png, tiff, tga, ico and cur. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

Added:

• “Compare-Check new images…” menu item. You can compare new images with images from the gallery before adding them
• Hold CTRL key while setting a filter by similarity degree for results to filter pairs with selected per cent value similarity ONLY

Fixed:

• Auto mark images by quality applied for the filtered range only, not for entire results
• Several minor issues
