ICQ has released the sixth incarnation of its IM program of the same name. ICQ enables you to communicate with text, image or sound with people who are on a list of contacts that you can create yourself. ICQ was one of the first IM programs for Windows in November 1996 and was extremely popular in its early days. Users are assigned a sequentially ascending UIN number during registration, say a user number. More than 450 million have already been issued and low numbers are even listed on eBay traded. Version 6 of ICQ only works on Windows XP or Vista, requires at least Internet Explorer 6 and includes the following changes:
