HylaFAX is a package for Unix-based systems that makes it possible to send and receive faxes and alphanumeric pages. Due to different starting points among the developers, HylaFAX+ has existed since October 2005, in which changes are implemented more quickly than in the version of HylaFAX without +. Version 5.2.4:

  • don’t allow frame 255 to go missing on PPS-NULL
  • handle a V.34 control channel retrain when receiving and waiting for DCN
  • don’t strip Sender/SubAddr information in faxrcvd after a colon
  • blank ECM page block before use
  • add direct LDAP authentication support
  • restore JobFmt %Y %Z and RcvFmt %X %Y %Z options
  • add default config support for Zoom 2949L (29 Mar 2008)

Version 5.2.3:

  • make faxmail support ISO-8859-1 characters by default
  • fix some client hfaxd connections from dying (especially faxwach) due to incomplete information in FIFO messages
  • fix TimeOfDay consideration when batching
  • fix a problem with va_list reuse when running clients in verbose mode
  • improvements to client FIFO cleanup
  • begin to use bin/dictionary in wedged emails
  • make faxrcvd use sendmail -t instead of placing the to-addresses on the command-line

Version 5.2.2:

  • make faxmail decode RFC2047-encoded headers
  • add ModemRaiseATCommands configuration feature
  • make parseQfile read $faxname and $faxnumber
  • fix the initialization of CallID types when using CIDName or CIDNumber
  • pass Content-Description, Content-ID, Content-Disposition information along to the faxmail MIMEConverters
  • extend high-speed receive carrier when possible
  • more socklen_t adjustments for HP-UX 11
  • remove “old” protocol support
  • make the server trust the client’s specified document type
  • make pcl2fax produce TIFF output directly
  • escape double quotes in client communication before passing them to the server
  • improve resiliency after an AT+FRH=3, NO CARRIER condition
  • employ “intelligent” RTFCC to use MH format when it is better than 2-D compressions
  • pass jobid into *2fax converters
