Download Hitman Pro 2.0.9

A new version has been published on the Hitman Pro website, which has been given a version number of 2.0.9. Hitman Pro uses the programs Ad-Aware, Spy Sweeper, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, CWShredder and possibly Trend Micro Sysclean or McAfee to remove spy, ad and malware, and viruses from the computer. Hitman Pro is actually no more than a scripting engine that first downloads and installs all programs and available updates and then runs all selected programs one by one. Afterwards, an extensive report is shown with all found and removed junk. The changelog looks like this:

New in version 2.0.9 (March 12, 2005):

• Added support for SpywareBlaster 3.3. The old SpywareBlaster will be automatically updated to this new version.
• Fixed Spy Sweeper issue. On computers with a dpi (display) setting greater than 96, the process did not go beyond updating the definitions.
• Added support for Norman Ad-Aware SE Plus.
• Warning for users with Ad-Aware 6 included. That version is no longer supported by the developer of Ad-Aware since November 2004 and therefore has no recent spyware. Hitman Pro requires Ad-Aware SE (the successor to Ad-Aware 6).
• Ad-Aware’s settings are no longer unnecessarily reset.
• Bug fixed in Ad-Aware reporting (program name and scan time not included in report if Ad-Aware SE Plus or Professional was used)
• CWShredder window is automatically made active after 30 seconds (and every 10 seconds after that). This prevents the processing from coming to a standstill if the CWShredder window is no longer active (due to another window taking focus).
• Bug fixed in Hitman Pro AntiSpyware. Hitman Pro was able to crash with error “FileClose ( $TempFile)”. This has been resolved.
• Installing capicom.dll could cause an error during installation if the respective .dll was already present on the system. This has been resolved.
• If traces of spyware are found in the memory or in the registry, the advice will be given to restart the computer if the Internet connection does not work immediately.
