Handbrake can convert movies contained on a DVD to video files in an h.264 or mpeg4 image format and an aac, ac-3, mp3 or Ogg Vorbis sound format. Although the program was previously forked to media fork, the two groups of developers have already joined forces for several months and will continue under the name Handbrake. Version 0.9.2 has recently been released for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows and includes the following announcement:
