Halide is a comprehensive camera app for iOS devices and is being developed by Ben Sandofsky and Sebastiaan de With. Both were dissatisfied with the progress made in the standard camera app, while the cameras in the devices themselves were drastically improved each time, so they started with Halide. It has an automatic mode that optimizes the settings, but you can also set the values ​​for ISO, white balance and shutter speed manually. The control of the app relies on gestures, making it easy to adjust the settings with one hand. The developers have released version 1.10.2 with the following notes:

This update fixes a few bugs in HALIDE 1.10: A SPECIAL IPHONE XS UPDATE

In Halide 1.10, we’re launching a new feature called Smart RAW for iPhone XS. After extensively testing the new iPhone in the field in the last few weeks, we’ve built a new automatic logic for exposing and getting the best RAW shots out of the iPhone XS, enabling more detail than ever out of any iPhone camera.

There’s nothing to enable. Just shoot in auto exposure you’ll notice lower noise and better highlight recovery in all your RAW shots. Check out some incredible examples on Instagram by searching for the #SmartRAW hashtag.
