The name Tweak UI was originally used by Microsoft to give a name to its own tweaking program for Windows. With the help of the program it is possible to change (hidden) settings of the operating system. Microsoft has various versions of Tweak UI in circulation, the two major versions can be divided into those for the 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows. The 64bit variant of Tweak UI only works on systems that run on an Intel Itanium processor, people who use an AMD64 CPU cannot use that version.

However, the folks at GuruNET have rolled up their sleeves and built a Tweak UI variant that runs on AMD64 processors and Intel CPUs that support x86. The program has been given the name Tweak UI 64-bit and is available from here as an msi installation file. This version of Tweak UI only runs on the aforementioned processors. Earlier (x86-} systems can also run the program, but that will result in a large number of error messages .
