Russell Lang has released version 4.9 of GSview, a graphical interface for Ghostscript. Ghostscript is an interpreter for the PostScript page description language used by laser printers. It also allows you to view documents created according to the Adobe PostScript Document Structuring Conventions, which are better known as PDF documents. GSview is under the Aladdin Free Public License issued and a list of available functions is displayed on this page given. Version 4.9 has been released with the following lists of changes since the previous entry in the Meuktracker:

Version 4.9:

  • Minor bug fixes.
  • Use latest version of zlib and bzip2 libraries.
  • Can be run as a portable application from USB flash memory.

Version 4.8:

  • Minor bug fixes.

Version 4.7:

  • Fix text extract for PDF files.
  • Text extract (pstotext) now recognizes excessive space within text as being separate words. Recognises a few more ways of showing text.
  • Fix problem with forgetting page offset and device settings.
  • When displaying Full Screen on Windows with multiple monitors, display full screen on the last monitor. When dialogs are centered on the display, put them on the first monitor.
  • Use pagesize from %%BeginFeature: *PageSize if no other page size is given.
  • Set auto orientation %%ViewingOrientation if present, in preference to %%Orientation.
  • Win64 build.
