Download GrabIt 1.5.3 beta

Ilan Shemes has released a new beta release of GrabIT. It is version 1.5.3 beta and this one can from here are downloaded. GrabIt is able to download files from newsgroups. Files that are split into several small files are automatically merged into the original file. Version 1.53 will no longer be freeware, but will become a paid product. One of the most important features in this version is the commercial search engine. Without an account, it can only be used four times a day and a maximum of 500 results are shown. As a paid user, it can be used without limitation and up to 5000 results are shown. The changelog of this release further shows the following changes:

Changes in 1.5.3 are:

• GrabIt no longer selects a group to download using a message-id;
• Added a confirmation pop-up between hitting the ‘clear history’ button and actually clearing the history;
• Removed the double dot in the Incomplete Grab extension;
• Subscribed groups appear bold in the All Groups list;
• GrabIt Search information messages are now displayed in a pop-up instead of the search results;
• While pausing due to lack of disk space, GrabIt now automatically resumes downloading when enough disk space becomes available;
• Fixed the ‘Error while downloading article’ problem that is also known as the ‘gobbledygook bug’ in the GrabIt community;
• It is now possible to toggle if ‘(Incomplete Grab)’ should be added to incomplete files (enabled by default);
• Individual parts from an Incomplete Grab will no longer be removed so the binary can be completed using another server.
