Download Gnome 2.10 beta 1
Through the mailing list, the developers of desktop environment Gnome just released the first beta version of the 2.10 industry announced and spread across the mirror servers† This release is also known as version 2.9.90, but has been renamed 2.10 beta 1 because of the new features. The first final version of the 2.10 branch is expected next month. A small sneak peek of some of the new features of the new industry are explained in this news article. The release notes below are from the Gnome team:
In addition to all the tasty new GNOME goodness, we’ve packed a lot of bug fixing into this release. The conservative, lossy count of bugs fixed over the 2.9 development period: 1134† Meanwhile, we do have a few show stoppers to fix before 2.10: so leap in and help us crunch the remaining few… Or find some we haven’t seen yet!
This release is a feature frozen snapshot primarily intended for wide public scrutiny before the final GNOME 2.10 release in March. Like the good old days of Linux kernel development, GNOME uses odd minor version numbers to indicate development status. Please check the 2.9 home page for more info.
