The Gimp Team has released version 2.6.11 of the open source photo editing program Gimp. The name Gimp is an abbreviation of GNU Image Manipulation Program. The software is available for various operating systems, including FreeBSD, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris. While not officially supported by The Gimp Team, Jernej Simoncic is working on a installer that can be used under Windows. In version 2.6, especially the user interface has been improved.
