The program Gammu is able to manage all kinds of things on mobile phones and is developed by the same developer as Gammu+. The difference between the two programs is mainly the development language used: C versus C++. For an overview of phones that are currently supported, please visit this page justly. The program can, among other things, make adjustments for ringtones, text messages, logos, WAP and the existing telephone book. In addition, it also includes an SMS gateway with MySQL, Postgresql and PHP support. The developer has released version 1.18.0 with the following changes since the previous entry in the Meuktracker:

Version 1.18.0:

  • Fixed decoding of an empty SMS.

Version 1.17.92:

  • Fixed some mistakes in API documentation.
  • Fixed compilation under MS Visual C++ Express.
  • Various small fixes if AT driver.
  • Add simple shell script to generate JAD file from JAR.
  • Added support for adding memory entries to 6510.

Version 1.17.91:

  • Phone features now can be defined in configuration, so there is no need to modify common/gsmphones.c for testing different settings.
  • Config file loading behaves more consistently in lookup. In some cases it can now find different configuration file.

Version 1.17.90:

  • Fixed crash when there are too many messages (bug #466).
  • Fixed crash when printing messages on Windows (bug #476).
  • Don’t ask phone for IMEI so often (bug #480).
  • No need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH for tests.
  • Properly wait for SMSD child processes (bug #486).

Version 1.17.0:

  • Fixed reading of messages from AT phones using CMGL.

Version 1.16.0:

  • Added identification of some Sony-Ericsson and Sharp phones.

  • Phones capable of switching to OBEX mode from AT have it now automatically enabled. Please report problems with this.
