Download Frets on Fire 1.2.512

Games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero are very popular. Well-known rock songs can be played with a special guitar. With Frets on Fire you can do the same, but on a PC and without a special guitar. The notes are plucked on the keyboard, using the function keys to select the correct string and hitting the enter key. From our own experience we can say that it takes some getting used to, but that it works fine. The gameplay is mostly similar to Guitar Hero.

Frets on Fire does not use licensed well-known songs. Completely in the spirit of open source, unknown and royalty-free music tracks are used. However, it is possible to import songs from Guitar Hero (versions I, II and III).

The most recent version of Frets on Fire has been available for download for some time, but is nevertheless worthy of a mention in the Meuktracker. The latest Frets on Fire has been given version number 1.2.512 and can be downloaded via the home page for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. The changelog for this build looks like this:
