Download FreeNAS 0.68 RC2
A few days ago the second release candidate of version 0.68 of FreeNAS was released. With this package, a computer in the network can be used purely for data storage, in good English called Network Attached Storage. The whole is based on a stripped-down FreeBSD installation and provided with a clear web interface. It has on-board support for CIFS (Samba), FTP, NFS, RSYNC, SSH, local user authentication and Software RAID 0, 1 and 5. FreeNAS is small and can easily fit on a Compact Flash, the hard disk or a USB stick are installed. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:
Changes in this release:
- Update Samba to 3.0.23a: This should fix the samba PAM authentication problem
- CIFS: force the “guest ok” option: This should fix the unauthorized login on samba share (thanks Giovanni)
- Fix some typos
- Found a bug: Can’t upload a new IMG with the RC1… To be fixed before release the RC2!
- Upgrade from WebGUI bug fixed… but need 128MB of RAM for working
- New language: Italian
- Fixed a bug for generating the mDNSresponder config file
- Fixed upgrade function when other language than english used (tempo fix)
