Download foobar2000 0.9.6.5 beta 2

The second beta release of foobar2000 version 0.9.6.5 was released on Friday. This popular media player can handle the most common music formats and its music library can handle large collections quickly and efficiently. The program also includes support for Replay Gain, can be converted to different formats and there are extensive options to customize the tags. Additional functionality can be added using plugins. New in version 0.9.6.5 is the addition of an on-line troubleshooter. Two further bugs have been fixed in this second beta release:

Changes in foobar2000 version 0.9.6.5:

• Online troubleshooter feature, accessible from the Help menu.
• Fixed: Album List was being compiled with all optimizations disabled until now, since at least 0.9.5, due to bugs in MSVC9.
• Various improvements to the crash report submission system.
• Fixed an obscure bug in the ABX component.
• Fixed a crash when trying to open a lossy WavPack3 file.
• Fixed a crash when decoding certain corrupted AAC files.
• Built-in album art viewer can now view artist pictures (embedded in tags and artist.jpg in the same folder).

Issues fixed in 0.9.6.5 beta 2

• Bug: Rare crash when clicking notification area icon – apparently only triggerable with certain third party components running.
• bug [libflac 1.2.1]: FLAC decoding may crash on CPUs without SSE.

Open issues

• Glitch: The playlist switcher toolbar dropdown list shows a vertical scrollbar regardless of being scrollable
• Incompatibility: “Open Containing Folder” context menu command crashes on Wine – this is a bug in Wine and will not be fixed on our end; please complain at Wine developers instead.
