Earlier this week, a new development version of foobar2000 was released in the form of version 0.9.6.1 beta 1. This popular music player can handle mp1, mp2, mp3, mp4, mpc, aac, ogg vorbis, flac and ogg flac, wavpack, wav, aiff, au, snd, cdda and wma, as well as support for Replay Gain, converting from and to different formats and has extensive options for customizing the tags. In addition, it is possible to change the functionality using plugins to expand further. In version 0.9.6.1, among other things, fields in the properties of music files can be filled in automatically, there is support for ‘chapters’ in Musepack SV8 files and it is now easier to search for files with accents in the name.
