Download Flock 2.5.6

The developers behind the web browser Flock have updated their program to version 2.5.6. Flock is based on version 3.0 of Mozilla Firefox and there are versions for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. The makers have labeled it a ‘social browser’ because the browser has built-in support for social networks such as Flickr, Facebook, YouTube, Del.icio.us, Technorati, Photobucket and various blogging and RSS services. Version 2.5.6 is only available in English and includes several bug fixes; the security has been aligned with that of version 3.0.16 of Firefox. Furthermore, the latest version of the Adobe Flash player is also included and several bugs have been fixed. The full changelog looks like this:

New Features in 2.5.6

• Incorporated Mozilla’s 3.0.16 patch for Firefox.
• Incorporated the latest Adobe Flash Player version. Please, make sure to close any Firefox window, prior to any install or update, in order for the Adobe Flash Player version to be updated.

Fixed Issues

• Fixed the issue where session cookies were lost during and between sessions on Flickr.
• Fixed the issues where the People sidebar would not properly update the Twitter Following, @Mentions, and DMs columns, due to some Twitter API changes. Relogin to the Twitter account might be necessary for the fix to apply.
• Fixed the issue where the Delicious integration was broken due to capital letters in the username.
• Fixed the issue where the Photobucket login was not detected.
• Fixed the issue where logging to Flickr would log the user out of Yahoo Mail and vice-versa.
• Fixed the issue where a message bar with the “Logout” button appears after publishing a new WordPress blog post.
