Download FileZilla 3.5.0 RC 1

A new development version of the open source FTP client FileZilla has been released. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular due to its low system resource load. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, and can be downloaded from this page be downloaded in different versions. New in version 3.5.0 is, among other things, that the transfer queue is now stored in a SQLite database, which improves performance and memory consumption. However, the download size has increased almost fivefold. Another change is that the binaries for Linux are no longer compiled for Lenny, but for Debian Squeeze.

New features:

• The transfer queue is now stored in an SQLite database. This greatly improves performance and vastly reduces memory consumption while loading/saving the queue
• Additional improvements to general queue performance and memory consumption
• The provided Linux binaries are now compiled for Debian Squeeze instead of Lenny

Bug fixes and minor changes:

• Fixed crash during shutdown of FileZilla
• Clearing the queue when it was not yet fully populated no longer causes a crash
• If using ask login type for a site and no username is given, the initial focus is now on the user box in the login dialog
