After the beta, the release candidate of version 3.15.0 of the open source FTP client FileZilla has now appeared. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular due to its low system resource load. However, a common complaint is that passwords are stored unencrypted on the computer. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux, and OS X, and can be downloaded from this page be downloaded in different versions.

SourceForge, which hosts the downloads, has been in the news lately because it offers some downloads through its own download manager that contains adware. If the download is less than 1MB in size and has an icon with the letters ‘SF’, you’ve got the wrong one. If the download is about 6MB and there is a FileZilla icon, then you’re good.   • Fix regression from 3.15.0-beta1 where extra data being appended to some downloaded files
  • Fix setting initial pane sizes when creating new tabs
  • OS X: Fix display of issuer and subject details in certificate verification dialog

  • Official binaries now link against GnuTLS 3.4.8
  • Official binaries now link against SQLite 3.10.2
