Download FileZilla 3.14.0 RC1
FileZilla has released a new version of its eponymous open source FTP client, a beta this time. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular due to its low system resource load. However, a common complaint is that passwords are stored unencrypted on the computer. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux, and OS X, and can be downloaded from this page be downloaded in different versions. SourceForge, which hosts the downloads, has been in the news lately because it offers some downloads through its own download manager that contains adware. New features:
- Add support for password-protected SSH private keys
- SSH private keys not in PuTTY’s native format no longer need to be converted if they aren’t password-protected
- When using synchronized browsing, changing to a directory that does not exist on both sides now asks whether the missing directory should be created
Bug fixes and minor changes:
- SSH1 support for SFTP has been disabled
