Spread the love

The ninth beta release of version 3.0.0 of the open source ftp client FileZilla has just been released. FileZilla is a small, but very complete and easy-to-use ftp client. For example, it has good support for encrypted connections (SFTP over SSH and FTP over SSL/TLS), has a site manager, support for queues, proxies and can limit the upload and download speeds. The appearance of the program has not changed much. However, it has been rebuilt from the ground up and is now available not only for Windows, but also for Mac OS X, Linux and FreeBSD. Downloads are available for all of the aforementioned operating systems except FreeBSD. This version has not been updated since beta version 4. The changelog for this release looks like this:

Changes:

  • Add “View hidden files” option to server menu
  • Add dialog to clear private data
  • Performance improvements of message log
  • Avoid sending unnecessary TYPE commands
  • Updated TinyXML component, fixes problems with filenames containing ampersands or other special XML entities.
  • Fix deadlock in sftp component under Windows
  • Don’t retry connecting if user cancels new/changed hostkey notification
