Download FastStone Image Viewer 2.9

FastStone Soft today peeled off the beta sticker of version 2.9 of its Image Viewer. This small and free program can very well compete with large commercial programs such as ACDSee and the also free programs XnView and IrfanView. It can display with most common graphics and RAW file formats and can perform some simple editing such as rotating (lossless for jpeg), cropping, resizing, red eye removal, being able to rotate the photo at any angle to correct the ‘skew’ of a camera and to adjust colours, contrast and brightness. Furthermore, it can generate a slideshow, possibly with music, and photos can be sent by email. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

• Enhanced Draw Board (previously called Text Board)
• Added Download from Memory Card. Now it is possible to use FastStone Image Viewer to transfer images from your digital camera’s memory card to your computer
