Lavalys has finally released a new version of Everest. Everest is the successor of Aida and is a program that provides a comprehensive overview of all hardware and software on the PC. In addition, some benchmarks can also be performed and there is hardware monitoring. The software is available in two variants. The Home Edition is free to use and, as the name implies, is for home use. It will not start if the PC is part of a domain. The Professional Edition has extra features, such as a network audit, has support for various databases, and can be used remotely. The release notes of version 1.50 show the following changes:

  • Improved Chipset page to provide more accurate information about AMD Hammer systems
  • Extended PCI devices information, including support for HyperTransport, PCI-X and PCI Express
  • Revised support for Windows XP SP2, including enhanced Bluetooth layer support

  • /IDLE command-line option to run EVEREST at idle priority
