Download eMule 0.47c
MetaMachine recently pulled the plug on the distribution of its eDonkey, eDonkey 2000 and Overnet clients, but an alternative in the form of eMule has long been available for exchanging files over the eDonkey network. In addition to logging in and communicating via eDonkey servers, this client can also handle the Kademlia protocol. If Metamachine indeed succeeds in making use of the existing eDonkey network impossible, eMule can also start using alternative ways to fish in files. The software is available for the Windows platform and provided with a new release by the developers. The version number has arrived at 0.47c and features the following list of fixes:
Version 0.47c Hotfix:
- Fixed some major bugs in Kad 2.0 source/keyword publishing
- Fixed Kad bug with processing Kad1.0-Packets which is believed to be remotely exploitable and therefore a potential risk if Kad is enabled [found by tHeWiZaRdOfDoS]
- Fixed bug with lost setting for disabled UDP port.
- Fixed bug in First Runtime Wizard with previously disabled UDP port.
- Added more sanitizing for Kad packages to ignore all unrequested packets
- Fixed some Kad memory leaks in exception handlers [tHeWiZaRdOfDoS]
- Tweaked reading of “addresses.dat” and “shareddir.dat” files to skip spaces and empty lines.
- Fixed bug with wrong file type mismatch warning for multiple selected part files.
