Double Commander is an open source and cross platform file manager. The well-known Total Commander has been used as a source of inspiration for both appearance and functionality. It even goes so far that Total Commander’s plugins also work for Double Commander. There are also some differences, including a baked-in text editor with support for syntax highlighting. Downloads are available for Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD. The program is still under development and will therefore still be released under the beta flag. Version 1.0.6 was released last week and the changelog since version 1.0.0 can be found below.
