Download Deluge 0.5.8.6

Spread the love

Last Tuesday version 0.5.8.6 of Deluge was released. This Bittorrent client was developed by Zach Tibbitts and Alon Zakai, two members of the Ubuntu forum. The program uses libtorrent and Pygtk and is available for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. Deluge has everything you would expect from a Bittorrent client: Bittorrent protocol encryption, mainline dht, upnp, nat-pmp, µTorrent Peer Exchange and the ability to manage the program remotely through a web browser. New in this release is that torrents that don’t need checking when Deluge starts are started before checking torrents that do need it. And that checking is less necessary anyway, because an annoying bug that caused the program to crash has been solved. For the sake of completeness, we give you all the changes that have been made to the program since the previous entry in the muck tracker:

Changes in Deluge 0.5.8.6:

  • Fix fast-resume deletion on shutdown
  • Tweak saving of uploaded memory (more effective ratio)
  • Add torrents with .fastresume files before torrents that don’t
  • Fix a UI hang (bug #72)
  • Fix large toolbar on windows

Changes in Deluge 0.5.8.5:

  • Fix force recheck
  • Auto scraping of tracker if it doesn’t report number of peers on reply
  • Fix web seed proxy preference
  • Fix adding or duplicate torrents
  • Fix timers for saving fastresume and uploaded memory
  • Fix rechecking on start
  • PnP fixes
  • Fix possible libtorrent crash in storage
