Damn Small Linux is a bootable Linux live CD based on the Linux distributions of Knoppix and Debian. The operating system is being developed with the intention of providing a compact distribution that is smaller than fifty megabytes. DSL comes with many different programs such as a media player, word processor, web server services, and internet applications. The developers have released two new versions, namely with 4.2.5 and 3.4.11 as the version numbers. The corresponding lists of changes look like this:

Version 4.2.5:

  • Updated Monkey Web Server to v0.9.2
  • Updated murgaLua to v0.6.0
  • Updated kbdconfig to fetch all map files not just kmap
  • Corrected Windows offset in dsl installboot
  • Updated exit.lua with mikshaw’s edits.
  • Removed unsupported setxkbmap
  • Dereferenced kbdconfig from .jwmrc, .fluxbox/menu, .dfmdesk/Apps/System/Keyboard, .dfminfo

Version 3.4.11:

  • Updated Monkey Web Server to v0.9.2
  • Updated murgaLua to v0.6.0
  • Removed unsupported setxkbmap
  • Dereferenced kbdconfig from .jwmrc & .fluxbox/menu – use DSLpanel
