Download DameWare NT Utilities 6.0.0.3

At the beginning of this month, DameWare Development released version 6.0.0.0 of its DameWare NT Utilities and less than a week later, the second update in the form of 6.0.0.3 is already available. These programs are intended for remote management and administration of Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista workstations, servers and domains. The DameWare NT Utilities include a very extensive Active Directory Object Browser and the programs DameWare Mini Remote Control and DameWare Exporter. The software can be fully tested for thirty days before it has to be purchased. The changelog of the three separate programs shows the following changes:

Changes in DameWare NT Utilities application

• Added support for Windows Vista (32 & 64-bit)

• Added support for Windows Vista (32 & 64-bit)
• No protocol revision. Will not require automatic upgrade to Client Agent on remote machine if Client Agent is 5.0 or above. However, we strongly recommend you upgrade the Client Agent on the remote machine to version 6.x as well. Otherwise much of this new functionality will not work properly, especially anything in relation to Vista. This can easily be done via the “File / Update Client Agent” menu option after you connect.
• New MSI package (DWRCS32.MSI) for the installation of the MRC Client Agent Service (32-bit only at this time).
• Automatic configuration of Windows Firewall (TCP port used for communication only).
• Automatic installation of drivers.
• New & Improved Proxy functionality.
• Enhanced functionality for 64-bit Operating Systems (XP, 2003, & Vista).
• Exclusive new Quick User Switching feature.
• Various additional performance enhancements.
• Remote installation of Client Agent could be done via File / Install Service, and could connect if Client Agent already installed & running. But remote installation detection could possibly fail when no existing Client Agent installed on remote machine. Fixed.
• Remote start/stop or Client Agent could possibly fail with a System Error: 1066 error under certain scenarios. Fixed.
• Very rare occurrence where SysTray icon would take too long to display. Fixed.
• Reverse Connection was broke. Would crash Client Agent Service. This requires an update to the Client Agent Service.
• No protocol revision. Will not require upgrade to Client Agent on remote machine if Client Agent is 5.0 or above. However, we recommend you upgrade the Client Agent on the remote machine to the current version as well. Otherwise some functionality may not work properly. **(Can easily be done via new “File / Update Client Agent” menu option).
• Rare occurrences where Mini Remote would hang or show Not Responding. Fixed.
• Weird crash in driver installer (dwDrvInst.exe). Fixed.
• May run the “one time configuration” more then once. Fixed.
