Cocoa Packet Analyzer is able to analyze network traffic stored in a pcap file to dissect and analyze. For example, it can currently recognize ARP, IP, PPPoE, TCP, UDP and IGMP, among others. As the name suggests, the program is written in cocoa for a Mac OS X environment. Jens Francke is busy developing CPA and as a result has released beta version 0.39. The list of changes looks like this:
Version 0.39:
- separate thread for reading the pcap file
- progress wheel during opening
- fixed copy from packetView
- added search field (searches packetView)
- added LCP Protocol
- displaying IP if possible (if not display MAC)
- added preferences
