Download Classic Shell 4.2.2 Beta

Version 4.2.2 of Classic Shell has been released, a beta release. This program can make changes to the appearance of Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, the start button and the start menu in Windows 7, 8 and 10. In Windows 8 or later, it can also add a classic start button and start menu. The program is no longer open source, but still free to use. This update includes several improvements for use under Windows 10.

Here’s what’s new:

• Improved support for Windows 10
• New ability to save settings to XML files from command line, see faq.
• New skin features, including glass for Windows 10, shadows for the text and fractional font sizes like 9.5
• New setting to align the custom start button to the corner instead of the middle of the taskbar
• Multiple minor improvements and bug fixes
