Despite the fact that the developers of Central Brain Identifier indicated that they were giving up on the previous release, they released a new version yesterday. What this means for the future is not yet clear. CBId can identify the exact model and type of processor of an AMD equipped computer. The program displays detailed information such as core name, revision and voltage, frequency, rating, cache size and PowerNow technology used. In addition, it is also able to make some tweaks to the L1 cache, the Clock Control Register, the memory timings and there is also the possibility to adjust the HyperTransport clock frequency. The release notes for this version look like this:

Central Brain Identifier 8.36 has been released.

Despite the project was officially closed, we considered necessary to support two new AMD NPT processor families. So, the latest CBId brings support for the AMD Athlon Processor LE based on Revision DH-F3 with model numbers of 1600 and 1620. Also, CBId identifies the new dual-core AMD Athlon X2 LS-5xx0 processor family based on Revision BH-G2 .[break]
