Download Caliber 2.46

Version 2.46 of Caliber has been released. In the past there was a new release every week on Friday, nowadays it is less frequent and this time there was even a month in between. Caliber is an open source and cross platform ebook management program. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images, and convert e-books to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. Furthermore, the program can convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format. Books can also be purchased with Caliber at the well-known web stores. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

New Features

• PDF Input: Add support for PDF outlines (bookmarks), if present, they are used as the metadata Table of Contents. Close tickets: 1524522
• Book polishing: Add tool to losslessly compress images in the book in order to reduce its filesize, without affecting image quality.
• Edit Book: Add a new tool to compress images in the book losslessly, accessed from the Tools menu.

• Bulk metadata edit dialog: Allow entering fractional numbers into the series number start with control. Close tickets: 1523253
• Speed ​​up moving libraries by using hardlinks instead of file copies when moving to a location on the same filesystem.
• Get Books: Disable the Amazon EU stores, at Amazon’s request.

Bug Fixes

• Fix moving libraries via caliber leaving behind a copy of the metadata_db_prefs_backup.json file in the original library folder.
• MOBI Input: Warn about corrupted trailing data entries, instead of aborting. Getting some, even partially corrupted text is better than no text. Close tickets: 1521830
