Yesterday it was a hit at the Blender Foundation. Not only has version 2.43 been released, they also have a completely renewed website, which has also been migrated to new servers. Blender is an open source and cross-platform 3D development program intended for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, post-production, interactive creation and playback. Version 2.43 has been in development for over seven months and includes a host of changes, including multi-resolution Meshes, multi-level UV, multi-layer images, and multi-pass rendering. Blender 2.43

The 2.43 release could be nicknamed the “Multi” version; with multi-resolution Meshes, multi-level UV, multi-layer images and multi-pass rendering, to name some highlights.

Much appreciated are the new Mesh Sculpt and Retopo painting tools. Artists using cvs versions have created amazing models with it already. But seven months of development time have resulted in a giant list of features & improvement & fixes, as you can find here.[break]
