With the Betterjpeg program you can perform simple edits on photos, such as cropping, resizing and removing the so-called red-eye effect. The program can also add the date and time the photo was taken, possibly with comments, to the photo. Most programs that edit jpeg files rewrite the entire file. This reduces the quality of the file; After all, jpeg is a ‘lossy’ format. However, Betterjpeg only does this with those parts that have actually been adjusted in the photo, but not with the rest of the photo.
