Jetico has version 4.0 of its BCWipe Total WipeOutsoftware released. BCWipe ensures that data is carefully removed, so that it can no longer be retrieved from the data carrier. Think of the frequent overwriting of the data based on American DoD 5220.22-M, DoE M 205.1-2, German VSITR, Russian GOST R 50739-95, British HMG IS5 and Canadian RCMP TSSIT OPS-II standards. The Total WipeOut version adds the ability to boot a system from a USB or CD, and then wipe the data on all data carriers in the system. The enterprise edition adds extra reporting and the option to boot via the network, the so-called preboot execution environment option or pxe for short. The changes for version 4.0 are briefly described as follows:
