Softland has released version 4.4 of Backup4all. This program can back up to another location on the hard drive, a network drive, an ftp server -with support for ssl encryption, proxy servers and passive mode -, a CD or DVD, or an external drive such as a USB stick. The software is available in Lite, Standard and Professional flavors, with prices ranging from $20 to $45. The mutual differences are shown on this page extensively explained. In version 4.4 the following changes and improvements have been made:

New:

• Option added to open backups from specific locations (Local, Network, FTP/SFTP)
• Backup jobs can now be moved in the backup list(drag-and-drop)
• Test runs after the merge operation too
• Auto-complete path for network locations

Fixed:

• The number of warnings in email notification was not correct
• Backup4all froze while paused for a longer period of time
• Mirror backup to CD/DVD/Blu-ray spaning on multiple disks
• Warning message when cannot open read-only catalog file
• “Backup all groups” scheduler did not work correctly
• Restore with problems from “Getting Started” page
• “Filter by action” under Scheduler page did not work correctly
• Some fixes when backing up open files
• AV when backing up to CD/DVD/Blu-ray using command line
• “Open” and “View with Notepad” options fixed
