Softland released version 4.0 of Backup4all on Tuesday. This program can back up to another location on the hard drive, a network drive, an ftp server (with support for ssl encryption, proxy servers and passive mode), a CD or DVD, or an external drive such as a USB stick. The software is available in Lite, Standard and Professional flavors, with prices ranging from $20 to $45. The mutual differences are shown on this page extensively explained.

Version 4.0 has been completely rewritten and should now handle large amounts of files and folders better, while using as few resources as possible. It is even possible to set the amount of memory that the program uses. It is also possible to encrypt files, the backup can be interrupted or paused and the program has its own scheduler.
