Download Avast Antivirus 6.0.1000 final

After a deluge of beta versions over the past few days, the final release of Avast Antivirus 6.0 has now been released. The program is available in the free Avast Free Antivirus and the paid Avast Pro Antivirus versions. In addition, there is Avast Internet Security, which includes a firewall and anti-spam as extras. In version 6.0 we see improvements to the sandbox, there is a browser plug-in called WebRep that can indicate the reputation of a website and there is SafeZone, a virtual environment for sensitive transactions.

Main changes/improvements:

• AutoSandbox – suspicious programs will be optionally run sandboxed
• avast! WebRep – browser plugin for website reputation rating; a combination of data from our virus lab and community voting
• Script Shield now even in the Free AV
• Site Blocking now even in the Free AV
• SafeZone – a special virtualized area for sensitive transactions (eg secure online banking) (paid products only)
• Restore factory settings command (Settings -> Troubleshooting)
• Automatic actions in the boot-time scan
• New compression method in the installer makes the setup packages about 20% smaller.
• Script Shield now functional even with IE8/IE9 Protected Mode

• Improved stability/compatibility of the Behavior Shield
• Improvements in the avast! sandbox
