A new version of Avant Browser 2012 has been released. This web browser does not stand alone, but uses the Trident engine from Internet Explorer and adds extra functionality to it, including autofilling forms and saving your profile online, so you can access your bookmarks, RSS feeds and settings. Avant Browser can not only use the Tridentengine of Internet Explorer, from version 2012 onwards, the geckoengine from Firefox and recently a third engine has also been added, namely that of Google Chrome. This release includes newer versions of the Firefox and Chrome engines. Furthermore, the changelog shows various bug fixes and the Chrome engine is now set as default.

Fixed

  • The problem of exiting from full screen/desktop mode after modifying avant browser options settings
  • Clearing records brought up the Firefox Safe Mode dialog box
  • Typed address can’t be recorded if unchecking the option Enable Auto-Complete for the Address Bar
  • Error box appearing at time of exiting Avant Browser

Change

  • Set Chrome as the default rendering engine
