Download Avant Browser 2012 alpha 2

Avant Force has started developing version 2012 of Avant Browser and now the second alpha release is out. This web browser does not stand alone, but uses the Trident engine from Internet Explorer and adds extra functionality to it, including autofilling forms and saving your profile online, so you can access your bookmarks, RSS feeds and settings. Avant Browser works from Windows 2000 and with Internet Explorer versions six through nine. Version 2012 can also be used with Firefox 7 and support for the Chrome and Webkit engines is still under development.

Avant Browser 2012 Alpha 2 (With Firefox 7.0 beta 4 Engine)

• Updated to Firefox 7.0 beta 4 engine.
• Fixed a few bugs could result in closing gecko engine automatically
• Fixed a few bugs of browser:home
• Fixed a bug of page zoom
• Imported Super Drag.
• Added a switch for Firefox’s Add-on Bar.

We noticed that Firefox 7’s JavaScript engine is faster than Chrome’s, based on the scores of JS benchmark website.

Avant Browser 2012 alpha 1 (With Firefox 7.0 Engine)

Avant Browser 2012 alpha 1 has been released. Now it works with both IE (6,7,8,9) and Firefox 7.0, the latest Gecko Engine. (Chrome/Webkit engine is coming…)

In this version, as many users expected Orca Browser was merged to Avant Browser. If you want to continue the experience of the old Orca Browser, please switch to Mozilla Firefox engine from the menu Tools->Default Rendering Mode. For temporarily rendering the current page with Mozilla Firefox engine, you can finish switching via the drop down list next to the Go button of the Address Bar.

Once Firefox is working properly with Avant Browser, we will add Webkit/Chrome.
