The new version of by clicking this link can be downloaded as a dmg file, taking up just over 143.46 megabytes, 43 megabytes less than the previous release. New to this Boot Camp is improved support for Apple’s iSight camera, built-in microphone, and keyboards. In addition, Boot Camp can also be run on MacBook Pros equipped with a Core 2 Duo processor; whether the quad-core Mac Pro was added to the same list is unknown.

Using Boot Camp, it is possible to run Windows XP or Windows Vista natively on an Intel-based Mac computer. Once Boot Camp is installed under Mac OS X, you will first be prompted to partition the hard drive so that a separate partition is created on which to install Windows later. When partitioning is complete, you will be prompted to insert a writable CD into the CD/DVD player on which to burn an installer that contains drivers for certain hardware necessary for Windows to use that hardware. After Boot Camp has done its job, the Windows installation procedure can be started. When the Mac computer starts up, you can choose whether to boot Mac OS X or Windows, but in both operating systems you can specify which OS should be started by default.
