Version 4.1.15 of OpenOffice has been released. This open source office package started in 1984 as StarOffice. In 1999 it came into the hands of Sun Microsystems and then ended up with Oracle in 2010. After a large number of developers switched to LibreOffice out of dissatisfaction with how Oracle managed this project, the source code was eventually donated to the Apache Software Foundation. OpenOffice comes with a word processor (Writer), a spreadsheet program (Calc), a presentation program (Impress), a drawing program (Draw), a database program (Base), and a scientific notation program (Formula). Improvements/Enhancements

  • Writer: Set firstline auto indent to 2 characters for Chinese language

Bug fixes

  • Basic: Fixed error in help text for function “len”
  • Writer: Dialog “Bullets & Numbering: The tooltip for the first numbering type is shown as “Number %NUMBERINGSAMPLE”
  • Writer: MS Word import – CJK numbering ordered list fallback to Arabic numerals
  • Calc: Function wizard – Spelling error for function “PROB”
  • Calc: Cannot save document as ODS (AOO builds using non-Latin alphabets, due to changes of transliteration rules at runtime)
  • Calc: Displacement problem with related formulas when moving cells
  • Math: Do not remove outer braces
  • Math: Existing command text is repeated when formula is inserted
  • General: Some glyphs are not replaced by GSUB table from OpenType font
  • Basic: Image control – Wrong picture in Help
  • Code: Possible access to unintended variable in “openoffice/main/sfx2/source/doc/sfxbasemodel.cxx” line 940
  • Code: Remove extra files from source package (clog, config.out)
