Slysoft released version 6.4.9.2 of AnyDVD on Thursday. This program runs in the background of Windows and is able to bypass the region and copy protection of DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray discs on the fly. It is also able to skip mandatory parts, such as the copyright and FBI warnings. Finally, the speed of the drive can also be adjusted to reduce the noise produced during playback. A license of AnyDVD costs 49 euros; for the HD version an additional 30 euros will have to be deposited. Until the end of this year, however, you will receive a temporary 20 percent discount. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

New:

• Improved balloon notifications
• Logfiles are created in the subdirectory “AnyDVD_logs” in the user’s documents folder
• The logfile directory is automatically opened in Windows explorer
• Added functionality for better integration with MyMovies
• (Blu-ray): Added support for AACS SMB version 10
• (HD DVD & Blu-ray): If automatic update check is enabled, AnyDVD will no longer ask for permission to connect to the key server
• (DVD): Improved speed of AI scanner with some discs … again, eg “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”, US

Fixed:

• (HD DVD & Blu-ray): Creating protected images didn’t work, if AACS or BD+ couldn’t be decrypted
• (Blu-ray): “Old” BD+ wasn’t removed with some discs, eg “Horton Hears a Who”, Hong Kong and Europe
• (DVD): Some extras were accidentally removed from some discs, eg video introduction to deleted scenes on Wall-E, US
• (DVD): Navigation pack errors with some discs
• Some minor fixes and improvements
• Updated languages
