Windows 10 1803 Enterprise and Education will receive additional support for six months
Microsoft is extending support for Windows 10 1803 Enterprise and Education for six months due to the corona crisis. Support was set to end on November 10 this year, but that has been postponed to May 11, 2021.
According to Microsoft, the decision was made because of user feedback. Because of the corona pandemic, companies would focus on other things and therefore need more time to upgrade to a new Windows version. Microsoft will continue to release security updates for the Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 10 1803 until May 11, 2021.
Support for the Home and Pro editions of Windows 10 1803 has already ended, but the Enterprise and Education editions for the enterprise and education markets will have support for an additional year.
Microsoft has recently extended support for multiple Windows 10 versions. For example, consumer versions of Windows 10 1809 will receive support until November 10 this year, while it was originally scheduled to end on May 12. An overview with details about support for all Windows 10 versions is published by Microsoft in its Windows 10 lifecycle fact sheet.
