Martin Aignesberger released the first beta release of AM-DeadLink version 2.8.1 today. With this program, Internet bookmarks of Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla and Firefox can be organized in a simple way. Not only can it quickly see if there are any ‘dead’ links, it can also permanently save the favicons used by some websites, making it easy to quickly find a bookmark in a long list. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

Changes in AM DeadLink 2.8.1 beta 1:

  • Delete duplicates from Mozilla/Firefox: Bookmarks were deleted from the wrong folder under certain circumstances
  • Update URL in Mozilla/Firefox bookmarks improved
  • wininet.dll check technology improved
  • Internal check technology improved
  • AM-DeadLink could crash under certain circumstances when the check technology wininet.dll was selected
  • Leading/Trailing spaces in the URL could cause a false positive
  • Smaller improvements/fixes
