Download AM-DeadLink 2.8.0
After five beta releases, Martin Aignesberger has just released the final release of AM-DeadLink version 2.8. With this program, Internet bookmarks can be easily organized. Not only can the program quickly see if there are ‘dead’ links, it can also permanently store the favicons that some websites use, making it easy to quickly find a bookmark in a long list. AM-Deadlink can work with Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla and Firefox. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:
Added:
- FavIcon download – new option: Override/Keep existing FavIcons
- FavIcons can be assigned manually
- Find Duplicates: Select all duplicates with a single click
- If you don’t work with the internal browser, then the “Open in browser” command will open all selected bookmarks in the external browser
Changed/improved:
- AM-DeadLink shows an error message if not all IE Favorites could be loaded due to some Unicode restrictions
- AM-DeadLink no longer removes manually assigned FavIcons automatically when a server/page doesn’t have a FavIcon. FavIcons can now only be removed with the “Delete FavIcons” command.
Bug fixed:
- The status of the last check was lost when closing AM-DeadLink while the duplicate view was active
- AM-DeadLink could hang in combination with nVidia graphic drivers
- AM-DeadLink could crash when aborting a check on some PCs (wininet check technology only)
- Start maximized didn’t work under Win2k under certain circumstances
- The “One level up” feature didn’t work properly for URLs with parameters (?param=…)
- Check was not finished properly in rare cases (concretely when a windows dll hung)
