Rogue Amoeba just released the first public beta of Airfoil For WIndows made available. This program is able to send music from Winamp, Windows Media Player and RealPlayer, among others, to AirPort Express, so that wireless audio transmission is no longer the preserve of Apple iTunes. Airfoil was already released last year for Mac OS X (this version is here to bring it in), but under pressure from its own community, development of a Windows version was started. The Airfoil For Windows beta is available via this link downloadable and made available as shareware; after ten minutes of use, the beta version will provide the audo with noise. For $25 you can purchase a license that is usable until the 1.0 final version of Airfoil For Windows. The developers of Rogue Amoeba have the following to say about Airfoil:

If you’re not familiar with Airfoil, it enables any audio to be sent to Apple’s popular AirPort Express hardware, which is otherwise confined to a monogamous and monotonous relationship with iTunes. With Airfoil you can send audio from RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, and just about any other audio application to the AirPort Express.

So here it is, the Airfoil for Windows Public Beta. It’s not completely done, but all of the features for the 1.0 are in place, and we’re working to nail down any remaining bugs. Please download Airfoil for Windows now, and report any issues directly to us. Otherwise, you can purchase Airfoil for Windows for $25 from the Buy Airfoil menu item right inside the application. Your license will be valid on the final Airfoil for Windows 1.0.[break]
